    The Perfect Storm

Rating:

Disaster:

Storm

Plot Summary:

The Andrea Gail fishing boat and its crew leaves Gloucester and heads out into the North Atlantic. Two weeks later two of the largest storms in history collide together to create the 'Perfect Storm'. Stuck in the middle of this ferocious storm is the crew of the Andrea Gail.

Comments:

This film is unlike any I have seen previously, so it is hard to rate it against similar films. The characterisation is excellent, as are the special effects but the focus on drama rather than disaster means it misses out on a perfect score.

Special Effects:

The effects shots used in 'The Perfect Storm" are some of the best "water graphics" effects on film today. Without a doubt, the shot pictured on the cover is one of the most menacing wave shots your likely to see. The rest of the graphics were wholly believable and obviously costly. An excellent effort in the effects department.
