    SST: Death Flight

Rating:

Disaster:

Air Disaster

Plot Summary:

A brand new kind of plane, the Super Sonic Transport (SST), is on its maiden voyage with hundreds of passengers. A deadly flu virus suddenly erupts amongst the passengers and crew. At the same time it appears that aircraft may not be able to land due to mechanical fault...

Comments:

The only way I was able to see this film was on the Mystery Science Theatre 3000 series (episode K13 from memory). Unfortunately the hosts of the show spoke throughout the screening, so it spoilt the film for me. However, the premise is quite good. Plenty of big name actors too, but the acting did leave a little to be desired. Please note, the image to the right is the Spanish film poster (and completely misrepresents the actual situation in the film)

Special Effects:

The special effects were about average for a seventies TV film. The exterior shots of the plane were dodgy to say the least and the crash scene was brief and changed scenes just at the moment of the crash. Still, there's enough campy disaster value here to keep the avid disaster movie fan interested.
