Flight 90: Disaster on the Potomac

Rating:

Disaster:

Air Disaster

Plot Summary:

An account of the horrific crash in which Air Florida flight 90 hit a bridge and crashed into the Potomac river in Washington DC claiming the lives of all but a handful of passengers.

Comments:

'Flight 90' is based on a true story and this adds an extra element of horror to what is a truly tragic film. The characters are well acted and easy to watch. What's more is, they are easy to relate to. The plot moves along at a fair and steady pace, and the sense of impending doom builds steadily as the film reaches it's climax. One of the best air disaster films ever made.

Special Effects:

The special effects are limited to a few brief and obscure shots of the cockpit interior during the crash. The scenes following the crash look very believable indeed. Watch this one for the story, not the effects.
