    Epicenter

Rating:

Disaster:

Earthquake

Plot Summary:

Los Angeles is once more shaken to the ground by a massive earthquake. This one focuses on a corrupt weapons designer and an FBI agent hunting for him.

Comments:

Yet another low budget film featuring an earthquake (as per 'Earthquake in New York' and 'Aftershock: Earthquake in New York'). This has an original take on the idea; with a gun battle taking place just as the earthquake begins. The characters are flat and stereotyped and you don't really find yourself very involved with anyone in particular. Still, 'Epicenter' is the best of the latest bunch of earthquake films.

Special Effects:

Praise must be given for the relatively good and original special effects and rather chilling musical score used during the earthquake. Made up mostly of model work and computer graphics, 'Epicenter' contains the most realistic earthquake scenes I've seen in a TV film.
