Plot Summary:

A dormant volcano suddenly begins to show signs of activity in the town of Dante's Peak. A USGS scientist is sent to the scene to check it out and soon discovers that the quiet little town of Dante's Peak is about to be destroyed by the now active volcano.

Comments:

'Dante's Peak' is one of the best of the nineties disaster films. The pace of the film and the ever present sense of impending doom makes for thrilling viewing. The acting was convincing and the dialogue quite enjoyable. A must see for all disaster movie fans.

Special Effects:

Needless to say, the special effects were excellent. Seamless use of models and computer graphics made 'Dante's Peak' a standout effort in the effects department. The final explosion scene is one of the most exciting ever seen in a disaster film.
