    The Day of the Roses

Rating:

Disaster:

Train Wreck

Plot Summary:

A gripping two part TV miniseries revealing the catastrophic events surrounding the horrific 1977 Australian Granville Train disaster in which a train was derailed and slammed into a bridge causing the bridge to collapse onto the train, killing 83 people.

Comments:

A fantastic film revealing the truths behind the disaster. The actual disaster scene is interestingly played out with a voice-over description of the catastrophe. There may be too much drama for some. Quite long.

Special Effects:

The special effects in 'The Day of the Roses' were brief but overall very convincing. The producers actually recreated the giant bridge and had it fall on an actual train car for this scene. Nicely done.
