    Daybreak

Rating:

Disaster:

Train Wreck

Plot Summary:

A 7.1 magnitude earthquake hits Los Angeles. A train running along the rail lines underneath the city, Red Line #7, is thrown from its tracks. The survivors emerge only to face worse danger: a burst water main threatens to flood the tunnel, gas leaks, toxic chemicals, and a corrupt deputy mayor intent on letting them die down there.

Comments:

This is your run of the mill TV disaster movie. The characters are fairly annoying, although this time the hero was one of the few characters that you actually cared about. The dialogue was believable and the pace of the film was also good, without any noticably dull moments.

Special Effects:

The special effects in 'Daybreak' were once again, run of the mill. Credit has to be given, though, for the entirely original special effects shots, created using computer special effects. At times the effects shots were obviously fake, but overall they acheived a reasonable level of realism.
