    Con Express

Rating:

Disaster:

Train Wreck

Plot Summary:

A rogue Russian general is selling a shipment of deadly nerve gas, being transported on a train. It's up to a Russian agent, and US customs officer to try to stop him before the gas ends up in the wrong hands.

Comments:

'Con Express' is not a hardcore disaster film as such; more an action film containing a strong disaster theme. For this reason it misses out on a higher score. For the most part I found the film entertaining and fast paced. Genuinely realistic dialogue and easy to watch characters made 'Con Express' an enjoyable hour and half. The films let down was the fairly predictable action sequences and somewhat stereotyped characters.

Special Effects:

The special effects in 'Con Express' were better than I had expected, although a lot of stock footage was used for the final avalanche scene. The model work used in the plane crash was realistic and quite well done. My only criticism is that the disaster scenes were too brief and lacked any really impressive shots.
